It’s the season…before the year in review season…to give thanks for what we appreciated this year. Being a Disney veteran, we are usually the first to notice any difference (and debate it well before it even gets to happen)…and should be the first to give thanks. With no further delay, the things I would like to say thanks for in Walt Disney World:

Fastpass+ …for the first walk with my family up Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom in ten years…enjoyable not to have to run ahead for the paper tickets and miss out on the beauty of that unique walk…

Magicbands …for being able to swim through Stormalong Bay to Hurricane Hannah’s for snacks and a drink without having to worry if my room key is on the bottom of the pool….

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train …to complete an entirely new Fantasyland experience ….was just a few years ago that as young parents we dreaded the sun (over)exposure and jammed crowds in one small area behind the castle….

Openings and renovations of Disney Art of Animation….Grand Floridian Villas….Wilderness Lodge Villas….Polynesian Village Resort….all of these have been fascinating changes for future stays…as well as giving us all different places to visit so we are not all crowding the same resorts…

Disney World podcasts…..WDW radio…BOGP…WDW Main Street…WDW Today…Disney Parks…..you all helped us through the year to look forward and plan the next trip….while stoking debate (even ones that went in circles) that was fun to experience…

Updated waiting ques for Big Thunder Mountain and Peter Pan….two old favorites that have always been Fastpass locks for our family are now considered for the standby …..adding more story to the ride….

Overall, I would like to give thanks for the vision to keep moving forward…even when facing the risk against nostalgia…..we appreciate Walt Disney World being something different every year…yet still able to deliver the same spirit of wonder and imagination to our entire family.
